Fragments are the holes produced in the storage devices due to continuous deletion and copying of files and folders. Holes are created as memory slots in which no file can be stored and are a wastage of memory. Too many holes can lead to unnecessary wastage of memory.
Defragmenting the disk is the process in which these memory holes are removed by placing the files that are stored in continuous form one after the other and close to each other. The defragmenting process is slower but not at all heavy. So you should be patient during this process.

4.select a drive that needs to be defragmented and than click on Defragment disk.

- click on START after point to All Programs and than click on accessories.
- After that click on system tools.
- than select Disk Defragmenter from the list of system tools.
