HOW TO FIX A PRINTER

HOW TO FIX A PRINTER

The problem we would be discussing is "WINDOWS CANNOT CONNECT TO THE PRINTER. ACCESS IS DENIED."

One of the unusual errors which happens in Windows Vista while trying to get a printout from a shared printer is the above error that Windows Cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied.

This is the most recurring error in Windows Vista whenever you try to connect to the printer even when you may think that everything is perfectly done and there is no problem. This problem can show up even when you are able to see the printer on the network and everything is allright.

Even every other thing like shared files, internet access et al seems to work properly but still you are not able to access the required printer to print.

All this may seem complex but it has a very simple solution. The only thing you have to do is to add the shared printer as the local printer and then give the print command.

And for this just follow the simple steps given below:

1.Open Control Panel.

2. Go to Hardware and Sound Category and then open the Printer tab.

3.Now what you will have to do is just to simply click on Top menu and choose Add a printer option.

 4. Now, the main part due to which the problem arised. Click on Add a Local Printer.

5. Now, click on option New Port and keep in mind that the port to be chosen should be the local port and then click on the Next tab.

6.Now, in Port Name box you will have to write the whole path to the printer. And then just have to click O.K.

7. Example- First will appear the computer's name and then the printer's name.
(Computer name=Tim and Printer name=Cannon) then
path defined would be  \\Tim\Cannon...

8. Now you will have to only install the printer drivers. After opening the install Printer Driver Screen you can select the location of the drivers. You can either install them from your hard disk or if you have a driver CD or anything else then you can install it from their.
After installing just click on the finish tab and now you will be able to see your printer in the printer windows.]Now, just test your printer and I am sure you will be able to print whatever you like without having any problems.
