CHANGE FILE EXTENSION






This post help you to know how to change the extension of any file. You may want to change a .rtf document to .txt file and you can do it easily by just following the simple steps.


First of all open my computer and than click on Organise and than click onFolder and search options, a dialog box will appear.

Click on the view tab on the dialog box.

Now, uncheck the box in front of Hide extensions for known file types.

Than click on APPLY and OK.


Now you will be able to see the extensions.

Select any file any rename it and you will see two options either to write the name or either to write the new extension.


Than click Enter.


If while saving the file with new extension you get an error that the file is read only than right click on the file and click on properties and uncheck the read onlycheck box.
