To protect data from being used by unauthorised person or any other person than there comes the need to protect the files with password. you can protect files with password by compressing them and setting a password on the extraction. Windows also provides windows compressor tool that helps to compress the files and protect them with password.
To password protect a file search for the file and follow the steps:
1.right click on the file and than click on Send To and than click onCompressed (zipped) Folder.
2. a new folder will be formed, double click on the new folder.
3.a window will appear and now click on File and than on Add a Password.
4.enter password in password and confirm password field and than click OK.
5.It's done.
To make the file protected from unauthorised users you must remember to delete the original file as you are having a new compressed and password protected file.
